Inspired by the famous Montagnana cello made in Venice in 1739, this model takes its name from the legendary “Sleeping Beauty” cello, an instrument that remained quiet for many years before its voice was rediscovered and returned to the concert stage.

The original Montagnana cello is admired for its broad, powerful sound and rich tonal character. Following this tradition, JYR 7042 model features a larger body design that helps create a deep low register, strong projection, and a warm voice with a distinctive presence.

The spruce top is selected for its balance between strength and flexibility, allowing the cello to produce a clear response while maintaining warmth and depth. The maple used for the back and ribs contributes to the instrument’s focus, projection, and rich tonal colors, helping the sound carry naturally through a larger space.
