JYR Workshop violas are handcrafted by our richly experienced luthiers. The quality of workmanship goes far beyond this price range. The tops are made of good quality Asian spruce, and the back and ribs are made of aged maple (aged and dried a minimum of 5 years). Plenty of inventory of tonewood and experienced luthiers allow us to make various replicas of violas made by the old masters, such as Stradivari, Amati, Maggini, Guarneri del Gesù, Rugeri and Guadanini. From beginner level to professional violas are all available.

The 7040 viola from JYR Music marries exceptional sound with impeccable design, resulting in a powerful instrument that plays evenly in every register. Leveraging wood seasoned +7 years, this stunning viola will enable you to produce a rich, full-bodied tone that feels wonderful to play and will also delight your listeners. The solid spruce top, the flamed maple back, and the maple ribs are all carefully carved by luthiers. Finally, the viola with an Antiqued Spirit Varnish to give it an old-world look and feel.
